Mark your calendars!
I’m a sucker for an origin story, and not just the Marvel Universe kind. Reality offers some pretty inspiring, if not more relatable, stories of the winding, bumping path to the advancements of our society achieved by us mere humans.
So my interest perked when TEDxMileHigh announced HUMANKIND as their theme for 2019 summer series on June 22. This theme offers a closer look at our collective progress and the human factor behind the evolution of our ideas.
They describe their vision for HUMANKIND as a look to “…explore the human element behind every invention. Whether it’s science, technology, the arts, education, or business, it is the efforts of groups and the brainpower of individuals that lead us forward. While we don’t always think of it that way, all invention comes from the human – the human brain, the human emotions, the human experience.”
While splashy headlines remind us what divides us or capitalize on our fears of robots taking over the world, this series’ theme inspires to unite us in a fast-paced digital age we’ve created and further highlight humans significant role in its evolution.
