The former restaurant is slated to become a multi-level apartment complex.

According to various reports, White Fence Farm, the beloved restaurant in Lakewood that shut its doors in December of last year, is now set to become an apartment complex. The complex will be (appropriately) named Novel White Fence Farm.

Crescent Communities, a residential and commercial real estate company, is currently developing plans for the property — A pool and fitness center will be included in the 260-unit, multi-level complex. There are also plans to turn the barn into a community area for the complex.

“It is truly our goal to find ways to make any incremental improvements with the surrounding neighborhood. We know White Fence Farm has been a long-time institution for Lakewood, and it was our goal to preserve some of the character of this site,” said Benjamin Collins, senior managing director for Crescent Communities, in a statement. “We are not maximizing the site. Our goal is to create something that the community can be proud of, even if they have opposition to it today.”

No other major details regarding the layout of the apartment complex have been announced. And while the plans are still in the preliminary stages, officials at Crescent Communities estimate that construction could begin by the end of the year and take up to two years to complete.

According to the real estate company, the monthly rent will cost residents anywhere from $1,400 to $2,500. You can read more about the apartment complex plans here.

White Fence Farms was one of several long-standing Denver-area restaurants that closed in 2018, including Old Spaghetti FactoryFamous PizzaEl Charito, and Paramount Cafe. And in January 2019, many items from White Fence Farm were sold off in an online auction.
