Ode to the Sports Bar

For thousands of years, people have been watching sports and drinking or, at the very least, drinking and talking about sports – it’s just what we do as humans. However, it wasn’t until long after the color television that sports bars came to be. Some say, that it was 1979 when the first sports bars in America started to pop up, others claim it was 1933 when patrons of a St. Louis bar would listen to the Cardinals game on the radio. All we know is that they’re undeniably a part of American culture, and we all have our neighborhood go-to. In this case, our go-to is the 20 Mile Tap House off Parker Road – our choice for the best sports bar in Parker – and here’s why:

20 Mile Tap House has been on the scene for some time now, and it’s truly a gem. That’s because it’s everything you want you could want in a sports bar. It’s unpretentious, it’s got a great crowd, the drinks flow like the Platte, and its food is better than any other bar in Parker.

As one Google reviewer put it: “Good drink prices, great food, and the staff is always amazing. It seems like they make a point of remembering people so you feel like you’ve been going there forever. Very comfortable and fun place!”

And we couldn’t agree more. When we went, our burger wept just enough juice, the toppings were crisp and fresh, and the bun heroically kept it all together. Then, there were the fries, prepared simply and salted to perfection, to complete the duet.

Oh, and, of course, we had to sit back, take in the game, poke fun at the announcers, and wash it all down with some cold lager. What more could you ask for?

What are your thoughts? Have you ever been to the 20 Mile Tap House? If so, how was it? Let us know in the comments below.
