This summer, the ranch is hosting its second Hanging with Huskies program, where you’ll have the opportunity to hang out, play with, and learn all about the dogs. They currently have 20 sled dogs, with a rumor buzzing around that puppies are expected to make an appearance this summer. (Cue the “awws.”)
When: June 11 to September 3 — 10 to 11 a.m.
Where: Snow Mountain Ranch – YMCA of the Rockies | Dog Park
According to Steve Peterson, veteran musher and dog team owner at Snow Mountain Ranch, it was one of the most popular activities to do at the ranch last summer. And we can totally see why! Huskies are always a win.
“I do a little presentation about nutrition, veterinary care, training and personalities of the dogs and equipment — that kind of thing,” Peterson told 9NEWS.
After you’ve had your share of dog kisses and snuggles, you’re invited to participate in an optional dog sledding craft in the Doak Room. Visit the ranch’s website for more information.
And just to entice you a bit more, below are some of the adorable faces you could meet:
During the winter season, Snow Mountain Ranch offers guests the chance to go dog sledding with the Huskies. There are a variety of ride options, including the chance to ride with the dogs at night! Called “Full Moon Dog Sled Ride,” this private hour-long ride takes you through the snow-covered trails as you bask under the moonlight.
Prices do vary depending on which ride option you go with. To register, click here.
