Your selfie could be picked to be displayed at the Buell Theatre for a special event celebrating Denver Public Art’s 30th anniversary.
Finally, a great excuse to take selfies! In celebration of Denver Public Art’s 30th anniversary this year, they wanted to do something special that involved the community.
The instructions are simple: Take a selfie with one of the 400 pieces of public art across Denver. Share your photo on social media with the hashtag #DenverPublicArt30. And don’t be afraid to get creative with it!
If the Denver Public Arts staff enjoys your photo, then your selfie could be curated to be displayed at the Buell Theatre for the anniversary celebration. Out of all the entries, only 30 photographs will be chosen.
This project will run from February to September, with two themes dedicated to each month.
February: Love and African American History and Heritage
March: Art in Cold Weather and Women’s History and Heritage
April: Animal Art and Public Art Selfies
May: Memorials and Statues and Asian and Pacific American History and Heritage
June: Summer Time Art (Picnics and Park Fun) and Find Art in Your Neighborhood
July: Denver International Airport Collection and Light or Kinetic Art
August: Urban Arts Fund and Indoor Art
September: Latino and Hispanic History and Heritage
All photo submissions will be available for viewing at PublicArtDenver.com.
