Summer is just around the corner and you’re thinking about bikini season. Kick it into high gear with these motivational fitness tricks to keep you moving!

Set goals

You can’t jump into the hard work without knowing what you’re working for. Do you want to be stronger? Leaner? Faster? All of the above? Setting goals is a great way to stay motivated. When you set realistic goals that work with your schedule, your fitness level, and what you want to look and feel like, then each goal you cross off your list will motivate you to hit the next one.

Listen to Music

Take the time to create motivational playlists for yourself. Don’t hop into Pandora all willy-nilly! Create a list of songs that keep you moving! More often than not, a great playlist will be more than enough to push you to the gym. Throw in a little “Eye of the Tiger” and you’ll be unstoppable. 

Don’t Get Discouraged

Rome wasn’t built in a day – your body works in much the same way. It took more than 10 days to gain those 10 pounds, so it’ll take a bit to work it off. Stay positive and don’t check yourself out every day looking for immediate results. You’ll start to feel better and look better at different times, and everyone is different. Don’t beat yourself up too much if you haven’t dropped that 15 in a week.

Switch it Upfitness

If you’re dreading running on the treadmill to get fit, realize there is definitely more out there than just running. Get out of your comfort zone and do something that really challenges yourself! Doing the same thing over and over again won’t pull results, but pushing yourself will! Find some new and different workouts you can try (at your fitness level, don’t hurt yourslef!) or if you need some help…

Join a Gym!

Join a gym that will keep you motivated. Don’t just lift a few weights or jog on a treadmill. Join a class and meet some like minded people hoping to reach the same goals as you. Classes are a great environment to push yourself, and have someone give you the motivation and encouragement you need along the way.
